I was exicted about tigerdirect's new policy of accepting bitcoins. so I purchased some power supplies on 1/26 at Tigerdirect.com
I immediately realized my old house address was on the profile and called on 1/26 to change it. CS said that because this is bitcoin, we can only cancel the order, can't change address. Weird, but ok. Cs says you will get a refund via bitcoin. Despite my explanation that this isn't possible, cs says it will happen.
1/26 a couple hours later after reading tiger direct policy on bitcoin canceled orders is refund via gift card. Cs says yes, other agent was wrong, you'll get a gift card mailed to you in 48 hours. No option for online credit -- has to be mailed! Then I had to correct the address they were using to send me my gift card because they were going to mail to the same wrong address.
1/28 asked CS if GC was mailed. Cs says you're not getting a GC. I explain that previous CS said I would and that official tiger direct policy says so on website. Cs says the charge was just a pre-authorization and that it will be refunded. I again explained this isn't possible with btc. Cs says yes it is and I'll send you an official email stating that you will get the refund via btc. CS went throug the trouble of verifying my email address.
1/29 no email and no payment via btc from tiger direct. Call cs and they say you will get a gift card but its still in process. I explain that the previous CS said I wouldn't get a GC and he suddenly said the issue is escalated and that he can't talk to me. I must call a manager phone number. I try to get clarification and he repeatedly interrupts my attempts by re-stating the manager phone number until I give up.
1/29 immediately call mgr phone number ... Closed for the day at 2:07pm PST.
