Let me give you the low down. I get into my studio and start working on some songs. I'm trying to do an album's worth of DIY material and it's hopefully getting near completion. As workmode sets in I go at it for a couple of hours and my ears are telling me it's time for a break.....so what do I do but start looking up some old footage of classic recording studios just to give me some inspiration. First I stumble on Abba's "Dancing Queen" and still was intrigued at how disco was worked on back then. Very hard work and I can appreciate that. Next video was how "Bohemian Rhapsody" was made. I'm starting to watch and all of a sudden I had a lightbulb hit me........this is where the blockchain technology comes in. I thought about how great Queen's song was and how much manpower it took to make it and produce it. Tons of overdubs from only 4 truly passionate guys working out a future classic and 100s of people all in the background(musicians, agents, engineers, promotion) working out the rest.
I imagine that the next wave of non-currency bases consensus technology can add a new element to the music world and here is the idea. A group of people(such as in case a certain subreddit community with it's own goal and purpose) set out in the early stages to start crafting a song. Now the technical side of how the tracks and recordings get uploaded is beyond me, however I can see it happening. As the song goes and months go by more users contribute to the song while the rest of the community says yay or nay on the actual changes. Mind you the community has grown to a thousand and the song is nowhere near completion.....yes....a music project can take as long as it is needed. Much research into new musical instruments and further advancements in recording style seep into that one song everybody's working on as months go by and by. Depending on how much a certain musician has been put in work(proof of work)....they are given a fraction of the whole pie of the blockchain network. This decision has been unanimously chosen by the masses within that network. The whole pie of the coin/property/asset/holding what have you is distributed to those when completion is there. The ones that have received parts of that pie are the ones that get the reward when song is played around the earth. Smart contracts and the creation of other nifty autonomous orgs will handle out the payments automatically and big nosed Larry "the boss" won't take his share and exploit the fuck out of you(sorry for my French). Now just imagine the capabilities of how awesome this song actually can be..........tons of thousands working day and night on it.......you go to work....anxiously awaiting to get back to hear the changes. The music is not yours anymore and has grown into this beautiful organism. Probably the ultimate way for extreme over the top 1000x more than any Brian Wilson could imagine type of work getting pumped into this "thing." Imagine the radio waves people......imagine that.
