First local band to accept Bitcoin, working to include some businesses in the loop.

Hello everyone, we are a progressive experimental rock (instrumental) band from Latina, in Italy. It's not a big city, but there are interesting thing nonetheless. We would like to talk about our experience and our plans.

One of our friends (/u/Fabrizio89) talked to us about Bitcoin and we were really interested mainly because of two things: the disruption of the actual economic paradigm (Italy is in a dangerous position right now: 25% unemployement rate and no signs of recovery, politicians are stealing tax money and gambling revenue is not shared with the state even if that's how it should be, in a nutshell) and the possibilities it opens for us. There are no business accepting Bitcoin in our city, yet, so our friend brought us to coinmap.org and showed us that in other cities (and countries) there are some pubs and clubs accepting it.

After a couple of days searching and contacting places, a guy suggested us to try a place in France because he knew one of the managers was italian (he asked us not to disclose the place because he still needs to figure out a double tax issue since he still owns his italian citizenship, so to remain prudent he can just do a few transactions every while and then), needless to say he was very happy to hear from a fellow countryman. He accepted to help us cover the trip by paying us in Bitcoin. We didn't make a profit, but neither lost much and it was a great experience. We spent half the night talking about Bitcoin, the other half about girls. :D

We will work towards spreading Bitcoin in our city, first by convincing the studio (Roll It Baby) where we registered our first album to let us pay everything in Bitcoin and that would be the first business in our city accepting it, and then by using their influence to convert a couple of pubs too since they are close friends with the managers. We even have a friend that has a videogame shop (GameUp) right in the center of the city, and he is willing to accept Bitcoin as soon as there's some movement and interest, while taking the time to understand if he will be fine with our version of IRS, since it's still not regulated here.

We hope we can find italian pubs and events where we can go and play using bitcoins and make other bands come in our city for the same porpouse. That's our main objective.

Well, that was it. We just wanted to emphasize that everyone of you can make an impact in this new economy and give people around you a way to choose their path for their future and that's what makes Bitcoin the great tool it is.

We know the site it's not that great, but we're no experts. We intended to sell tracks for a bit less, but there are a couple transaction costs included to protect users I guess. We will update the price every two weeks, hoping that satoshibox will implement a feature for doing so quickly so we don't have to upload again everytime.
