So today was a bit more structured. I attended what I could and checked out the expo booths some more.
Overall, there was a general agreement on a few things:
Regulation isn't that bad, it can give legitimacy to Bitcoin. Canadian regulators appear to be on the side of Bitcoin.
Taxation with Bitcoin is a headache. Canada lacks clear tax guidelines and US is a bit of a mess due to the new regulation on what really is Bitcoin. If someone wants to develop accounting software to tackle all of these problems, you will probably get good business.
Future of cryptocurrencies is in the plurality of coins, not just one coin. It's not about "us vs them", we're in this together. Also, Taaki has a really amusing way of saying "Dogecoin" ;).
War with currency like Bitcoin is rather pointless and not a cost effective endeavor.
I will probably elaborate on a few of those topics in greater detail once I'm back from the conference.
